G.A. Thompson
Allen is a writer, Army veteran, and retired heavy industry electrician living on five wooded acres in the Pacific Northwest with his German Shepherd, Brin. He writes across genres — memoir, noir detective fiction, folk horror, military comedy, historical espionage, and intelligence history — with a preference for authentic voice over polished surface.
His work draws on decades of hard experience: mining and industrial sites across the American West, two decades of Army service, extended motorcycle trips through the back roads of the continent, and a long relationship with the desert landscapes of New Mexico and the American Southwest.
He is the founder of Brin/Raven Publishing and the author of more than a dozen titles, including A Magnificent Ride to Nowhere, the Torres & Morales Investigations noir series, and Shadow Wars: The Forging of American Intelligence., we've focused on staying true to our values and making space for thoughtful, lasting work.
Brin/Raven Publishing is an independent imprint founded by G.A. Thompson. It publishes character-driven work across literary horror, noir, speculative fiction, and selected nonfiction — with a catalog that favors atmosphere over spectacle, consequence over comfort, and stories that trust the reader to sit with ambiguity.
The imprint takes its name from Brin, a German Shepherd, and the raven — a bird of ill omen and keen intelligence that appears throughout Thompson’s work.
Brin/Raven publishes quietly and deliberately. Some titles are offered free for limited periods to encourage discovery. All titles are available through Amazon KDP.of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead.
