G.A. Thompson
Allen is a writer, Army veteran, and retired heavy industry electrician living on five wooded acres in the Pacific Northwest with his German Shepherd, Brin. He writes across genres — memoir, noir detective fiction, folk horror, military comedy, historical espionage, and intelligence history — with a preference for authentic voice over polished surface.
His work draws on decades of hard experience: mining and industrial sites across the American West, two decades of Army service, extended motorcycle trips through the back roads of the continent, and a long relationship with the desert landscapes of New Mexico and the American Southwest.
He is the founder of Brin/Raven Publishing and the author of more than a dozen titles, including A Magnificent Ride to Nowhere, the Torres & Morales Investigations noir series, and Shadow Wars: The Forging of American Intelligence.
Brin/Raven Publishing is an independent imprint founded by G.A. Thompson. It publishes character-driven work across literary horror, noir, speculative fiction, and selected nonfiction — with a catalog that favors atmosphere over spectacle, consequence over comfort, and stories that trust the reader to sit with ambiguity.
The imprint takes its name from Brin, a German Shepherd, and the raven — a bird of ill omen and keen intelligence that appears throughout Thompson’s work.
Brin/Raven publishes quietly and deliberately. Some titles are offered free for limited periods to encourage discovery. All titles are available through Amazon KDP.
